Nick officially announced his first solo project, The Nick Hexum Quintet, in summer 2013. He had revealed via Twitter in fall 2012 that he was working on some new songs with his brother, musician Zack Hexum, and stated soon after that he would be recording the side project’s new music with an ensemble of other musicians.
The album, titled My Shadow Pages, contains 13 original songs co-written by Nick and a variety of other artists. The album was recorded in just eight days in L.A. and is slated for an October 1 release.
The first track shared with the public (on July 18, 2013) was “Blame The Sky,” co-written with Zack Hexum. “Sideways,” co-written with Sugarcult’s Tom Pagnotta, was shared officially online on August 27, 2013. “Super Natural” was leaked by a radio station (I believe) sometime during the week of August 25.
