Just weeks before the Presidential election in the fall of 2004, “The Hexum Brothers” – comprised of Nick and Zack Hexum, Joel Martin, Charlie Paxson, and Bill Shupp – set out on a mini tour of the Midwest U.S. in support of John Kerry. You can read more about Nick’s purpose and intentions for the string of nine shows HERE. Note: a last-minute, final stop was made at The Annex in Madison, WI, on Monday, November 1.
I was fortunate enough to see both the Chicago and Madison shows on this special tour. In fact, it was at the Madison show that I met Nick for the very first time. You can read more about both of these shows in the My Tour section of the website.
In addition to the songs linked below, other songs played on the tour included: “All I Want” (Toad the Wet Sprocket), “Clampdown” (The Clash), “Don’t Ask Me Why” (Eurythmics), “How Many Times” (Zack Hexum), “More Than A Feeling” (Boston), “One Spin” (Zack Hexum), “Strange” (R.E.M.), and the 311 songs “Amber,” “Beyond The Gray Sky,” “Champagne,” “Electricity,” and “Flowing.”
